I have wanted to blog about the phenomenom that Twitter has become. I have used twitter about for two years; offcourse I had a slow start — there was few users and it was very had to meet new ones. But with time, the community grew; and it was very niche-based driven — mostly bloggers, tech guru’s, and one that other social-media addicted junkie. With time it grew to be that some companies went corporative, and would drive information through Twitter; this allowed for real quick PR things to get done, and correct any mistake that could have occured in the media, for bloggers to easily pick up and spread through their posts. Tonight, is Vote Earth. It’s amazing how the internet and social media has allowed for such things as motivating and mobilizing people not only to products and services but mostly to ideals using emotional appeal. It used to be that television was the medium which was recognized as being the most efficient when required to use emotion into a message — still holds true today, if it weren’t for the incorporation of video into the internet and its incorporation to social media networks such as Facebook, MySpace,etc.
WWF’s campaign of Vote Earth, mirrors Eerth Hour. The idea now moves to that it doesn’t matter what our nationalities are, or our backgrounds, we all live in this planet and its our turn to vote whether we want this plannet or a global warming proned world. So this goes to say, that is practically an election. A interesting way of mirroing the recent election hype, and the use of social media which was also in Obama’s interest. Interesting, enough the video embedded in this post, was made by Obey, who also was involved in the Obama campaign.
Cooperate, get involved, use twitter,facebook or just blog about it. Tonight at 8.30, we might see a world who voted as one and made a significant change. At 8.30 vote for one hour of change. In twitter use #EarthHour, in facebook spread the youtube link or just say “Earth Hour”. Vote Earth.
